to understand our space and time, in this crisis we are facing in our government, and society, were giant wealth and technology, military and law enforcement, must be changed,we must understand our past. i was born, in an isolated area, my grandmothers ranch was between Weed and Meril Ca.it was so big there was a redwood ancient grove on the west side, on the eastern side a rove of sequoias.between these 2 tall trees groves were willows, alders, Maples,fruit trees, California pine, Spruce, cedar and Yew, Douglas fur, oak and elm trees! wild flowers everywhere, it was magical. and some of the Fist Nation,and others, were also Magical!there were wild wolves in the hills, and pumas in the woods, eagles, hawks, and cranes, song birds and of course, farm animals. we had horses, chickens, pigs,cows and other critters, i danced and rode before i walked.my parents always grew about 75 percent of our food, but also hunted, they always helped those in need. we had the Lost river on our land, even hot springs!we had ancient First Nation pictures on sacred rocks! we had other folks,on other farms, real Fist Nation [Modock]and real cowboys[ rode the range]without these magical years, with beloved Mt. Shasta always looking down on us,i doubt i could have survive the violation and terror i have had to endure. yet i so miss my oneness with nature, it is so very hard to be violated! if we don't face 'Global Warming'[my phrase, 1973] it is just not US, our country, humans but all creatures, all plants are are risk!the 'Sioux nation,' a confederacy of many tribes, but they never lived in California, a few transplants [my Grandmother, a Scots,French Matis, from Canada, and 'Stoney ' she settled 1,0000's of miles from her homeland] but, California was never in the Sioux confederacy habitat.i learned recently the truth of that tragedy! at least 11 million 'Sioux were living, when Chris Columbus hit the islands,it was a big tribe, but still just ONE tribe! we neglect already to learn about and honor the First Nation folks! i was lucky, i was apprenticed in the people of the mountain, those folks are almost all gone, many legends and songs i have no one to pass on to... instead,we talk about gun slingers, pioneers, and saloons! too much fake glamour of hoes, they were trafficked, broken, often alcoholics, the ones that were lucky meant folks that married or took them in, helped them get jobs. your pictures are the propaganda advertisement their 'owners' used. also absent groups, the black cowboy', Asian cowboy, and Mexican cowboys, there were many First Nation cowboys also. truth is most woman of the west were hard workers, faithful mothers, sisters, wives, who worked and ran house holds, and the wonderful music! a combination of First Nation, Mexican [guitar], European, and Celtic, everyone, first nation,farmers, all folks,DANCED! the poet cowboy is no myth, many folks of the west were artist, poets and musicians. as well as herdsman, ranchers and farmers, the exploitation and suffering of miners can never be over stated, then and now; especially the tragic deaths of fist nation,now, uranium miners. before radio, TV, internet, we made our own songs and art, it should then make sense over 12,000 songs,poems, so many stories, i have made, unable to write down or sing out loud, because i am always violated for exploitation, and my work ruined!no show about the west should ever exclude the genocide of first Nation, 80-90 percent of First Nation died, from starvation, the killing of wild life and fencing off hunting grounds, the murder, mining, the disease with no medical care, the savage ripping of culture and families, apart. on this Thanksgiving i would like to remind every one of the First Nation folks that feed IMMIGRANTS, kept them from starving as winter was coming, with the gift of food, vegetables and 3-4 full deer, enough to eat through the winter[my grandfathers people]i want US,to consider the Mexican decent folks being hounded an harassed by ICE,the torture prisons they have too often been sent too, these are partly, First Nation ancestry folks, the Catholics that settled Mexico, though sometimes cruel, recognized that Indians had souls, were humans, the puritans that settled North America saw color of skin as a sign that others had no souls, a sick, anti Christ prejudice! stop racism, the horror and suffering of sexism, but do not 'gloss'it over! we must, to survive, unite and help each other! end ICE, end military in our cites and fascism, lies and hypocrisy in government!joyous First Nation day to all, may every one have freedom[i still do not!] and enough to eat and medicine and shelter,not a tax 'shelter' for a super rich billionaire, criminal cabal, but livable,warm, PRIVATE, unharnessed,shelter for everyone, even me and mine! we now need my energy desperately, not more nuke killing machines and weapons! not more Uranium mines!not more cancer, starvation and famine, because i have suffered so much, a 5 time cancer survivor, because how i have been violated starved,, brutalized, even worse than any words i can say, i know we must stop miss using technology!
